The Northern Flea Market has a long tradition, and each edition continues to enjoy unwavering popularity. But where did the concept of a "flea market" come from in the first place? To find out, one must travel (even if only in imagination) across the ocean to the United States.

Initially, sales were organized in shipyards – undelivered goods that arrived by ships were sold at a reduced price. Later, suburban residents embraced the idea. They had large gardens in front of their houses (hence the alternative name Yard Sale), which were not fenced off, allowing them to display items in front of their homes for anyone interested to explore. Everything was sold! From books, small household appliances, and family memorabilia to more or less valuable items and even real treasures. Occasionally, hidden gems were discovered. In 2012, a buyer paid $5 for a sketch, later revealed to be an artwork by Andy Warhol worth... $2,000,000!

Will you be able to find a great deal at the Northern Flea Market? Definitely!

Admission to the Northern Flea Market is free. Registration is required for those who want to exhibit their items.

If you are a seller:

You can display practically anything: books, toys, clothes, games, ceramics, home decorations, artworks, antiques, small household appliances, and electronics – whatever comes to your mind. However, please note that dangerous items and those requiring a permit for sale are exceptions. You can also sell your own handmade crafts.

Get practical tips:

• To sign up for the Northern Flea Market, send your application to:, galeriapolnocna@wyprzedazgarazowa.org.

•      Applications are accepted no earlier than three weeks before the Northern Flea Market date and no later than four days before it starts.

•      Describe what you plan to sell. The more details, the better.

•      Be creative in motivating your application. This is very important!

•      Make sure to familiarize yourself with the action regulations that apply to every seller (below).

Each time, several hundred people apply for the Northern Flea Market. The decision to qualify as a seller is based on:

•      A detailed description of the products you want to sell – we care about diversity.

•      The content of the email with the application.

We emphasize creativity, humor, and mutual respect. Convince us that you should be the one to appear at our event.

If you are a buyer:

The Flea Market is open to everyone. You can come and see what interesting items the sellers have on display, or you can come with the intention of buying something specific. It's a great idea for spending leisure time and maybe even discovering a new hobby. We select sellers to ensure that the offered items are as diverse as possible and appeal to not only seasoned bargain hunters.

The Northern Flea Market takes place on a non-trading Sunday, meaning selected gastronomic points are available to customers. Lunch, coffee, and dessert? You don't need to convince us!
